NCK Art Project

Kingsley Year 5 pupils joined with fellow peers in Norley and Crowton Primary School to work together to create some beautiful banners to decorate the NCK Centre in Norley.

The students were invited by Vicar Pete Rugen to design and create 3 large canvases linked to God's love of his world.

The year pupils all worked brilliantly for the full day.  The teachers and helpers were very impressed with the levels of teamwork, compromise and enthusiasm displayed from all involved.

The morning started with a prayer delivered by Vicar Pete and an overview of the purpose of the day and the expectated outcomes.

The children were then shown a range of simple designs of Christian banners, with some explanation of how the symbols can be manipulated are exaggerated.

They then decided their own groups and began to discuss and share their own ideas for a Christian banner.  The children were phenomenal in how they listened to each other and compromised their ideas so that the project really was truly collaborative.

The general consensus was that is was a fantastic day.  One child said "It's been exciting taking part and listening to everyone's ideas."  Another pupil said, "I come here for Messy Church and it will ne good to see them everytime I come."

Katie Burge summed up the day brilliantly, "It's been good that the three schools have been together for the day.  There has been a day of 'team art' and 'mystery art'.  I have loved it.  It's been really good."
